On Thursday 9th November, our Key Stage 2 Faith in Action leaders volunteered at the Harold Hill Foodbank. They were curious to find out how a foodbank operates and also spent time talking and helping the volunteers. Some jobs included sorting the food into baskets, then onto shelving using the correct use by dates. Another group of children used a 'shopping list' to fill bags ready for customers to take home. All the children thoroughly enjoyed themselves and received a warm welcome from Mark, the manager, and the volunteers. As a thank you they were each given a chocolate Advent calendar for helping. We are truly grateful for this opportunity to help in the community and to understand the challenges faced by some of our neighbours. We pray that God will bless Mark, all his staff and those in need of help during difficult times.
